Course Objective

Course supported by CPDD.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Master the oral characteristics of young second language learners, as well as understand their challenges and learning behaviours.
2.Understand the teaching principles, and apply the explicit strategies to cater to their abilities and needs.
3.Design interesting CL oral activities for the young second language learners.


Course Outline

The course will cover the following topics:
1.Oral characteristics, challenges and learning behaviours of young second language learners.
2.Teaching principles and explicit strategies for young second language learner, such as 'Thinking Aloud', 'Total Physical Response', 'Functional Chunks Building'.
3.Designing of interesting oral activities.
