Course Objective

Course supported by CPDD.

After attending the course, participants will be able to:
1.Know the correct writing posture and the function of strokes and writing.
2. Master the fundamental of pen calligraphy to write neatly.
3.Apply the art of pen calligraphy to improve daily writing
4.Apply the set of writing methods to improve handwriting.
5.Know how to teach the students to master the pen calligraphy to improve their handwriting.


Course Outline

The course content includes the following:
1.Learn about the role of ergonomics in pen calligraphy.
2.Understand and apply the basic brush strokes in Chinese characters.
3.Beautify the handwriting by understanding the symmetry and balance of brush strokes in writing Chinese characters.
4.Practise the pen calligraphy using different writing instruments.
5.Chinese calligraphy by Huang Zhiyuan, a famous calligrapher from the Qing dynasty.
6.Diagnose the students' handwriting issues and apply appropriate strategies in teaching.
