After completing the course, the participants will be able to:
1. Understand the development of oral proficiency of P1 students.
2. Know the different ways of oral interactive activities and their pedagogical rationale.
3. Apply various strategies to conduct interactive oral activities on the basis of differentiated instructions.
4. Design post-oral-diagnostic oral activities to meet students' different oracy needs.
The course will cover the following main areas:
1.The framework of oral proficiency development in 2015 Primary 1 textbooks according to the Oral Proficiency Diagnostic Tool.
2.The types of interactive oral activities and their pedagogical rationale.
3.The strategies to teach oral interactive skills through differentiated instructions.
4.The design and conduct student-tailored oral activities according to students’ different needs.
