Course Objective

This lecture is an introduction to reliability and validity in language assessment. It aims to develop educators’ assessment literacy and promote their professional development.

At the end of this course, participants would be able to:
1.Articulate the concept of reliability
2.Articulate the concept of validity
3.Explain the relationship between reliability and validity
4.Apply the concepts to reflect on personal and professional experiences
5.Develop an appreciation for the relationship between theory, practice and research
