The course content covers the following:
1.Understanding the middle primary pupils’ metacognitive processes involve in reading comprehension.
2.The reading difficulties and challenges face by the middle primary pupils.
3.The relationship between readers and texts.
• The teaching of narrative texts with reference to instructional materials.
• Handling difficult aspects of texts during lessons.
4.Designing teaching of comprehension lesson.
•Introduction to reading process models: SQ3R and QAR.
• Introduction to comprehension strategies: vocabulary teaching, understanding of theme and confirmation of information derive from texts.
• Implementation of comprehension strategies in a lesson.
5.Guiding and correcting pupils in working on comprehension exercises.
