At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Understand the characteristics of multiple choice (MCQ) assessment.
2.Understand the relationship between MCQ assessment and pupils’ language abilities development.
3.Understand the principles and strategies of cloze test and comprehension test 1.
4.Apply the principles and strategies in setting cloze test and comprehension test 1.


Course Outline

The course covers the following contents:
1.An illustration on the characteristics of MCQ with examples.
2.A brief illustration on the cloze test and the Comprehension 1 in relations to the pupils’ language abilities development.
3.A brief illustration on the common misunderstandings of MCQ.
4.An illustration on the cloze test and the Comprehension 1 assessment objectives and the language learning objectives.
5.An illustration on the principles and the methodologies in setting cloze test and comprehension 1 with examples.
6.Using principles and methodologies learned, to set cloze test and comprehension questions, and to conduct peers sharing and critique session.
7.A brief illustration on the listening comprehension requirements.
