Course Objective

Course supported by CPDD.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1.Understand the framework and strategies of QUILT (Questioning and Understanding Improves Learning and Thinking).
2.Understand the methodology of text analysis.
3.Grasp the teaching and learning needs of classroom comprehension.
4.Understand the importance of questioning skills as part of scaffolding in teaching of comprehension.


Course Outline

The course outlines are:
1.To design and plan questions using Quilt framework and strategies.
2.To use text analysis method to design comprehension questions peculiar to the texts.
3.To analyse an individual way of questioning with reference to the syllabus and teachers’ guide e.g. setting of questions, questioning skills and strategies.
4.Discussions on authentic classroom examples to help participants to grasp Quilt framework and strategies.
5.To design questions base on P5-P6 texts.
