Abstract
Communication is an essential skill in the 21st century and a common objective in language learning. The latest mother tongue language review committee report in Singapore, for example, has identified communication as one of the three objectives of mother tongue education and emphasizes on nurturing proficient communicator of the Chinese language. This paper reviews presentation as an important communication mode and unpacks the related aspects of presentation. It then examines the major affordance of digital story-telling and how it may be used as an effective approach to develop the related aspects of presentation in students. The paper ends with a proposed procedure for effective implementation of digital story telling in classroom practice. Recommendations for practitioners and researchers on the effective implementation and further exploration of digital story telling are also provided.
