Abstract
This paper is a comparative study on 5 classes from 2 local secondary schools with different curriculums and language backgrounds. This paper is based on an empirical research in the above mentioned 2 schools for one year. In the research, we used B.S.Bloom's "A Taxonomy for Learning" as our main theory, and adapted the Collaborative Learning strategy into the teaching practice too. In this paper, we will share and compare the respective teaching outcomes of the 5 classes with the same research idea, strategies and teaching procedures. We also make discussions and analysis based on the data we collected; some principles and suggestions for cultivating reading skills and thinking skills for students with different curriculums and language backgrounds are given in the end as well.
