Abstract

The traditional method of using films in teaching has tended to be a one-sided approach. Students watch the films and teachers will then review the films with respect to the theme, content and other factors. Despite of its value, this method of educating neglects the students' opinion and the goals of the new curriculum. Based on the theory of constructivism, teaching packages are designed which in turn, will encourage interaction amongst students and teachers. This paper emphasizes on the following areas:

  1. The theoretical structure and design of using films in education
  2. The pedagogy of using films in education
  3. The assessment of pedagogy used
