This course integrates drama into picture books and storytelling through a variety of drama teaching strategies, also known as conventions. It aims to enhance children’s imagination and creativity while encouraging them to confidently express their emotions and ideas during activities. Through movement and dramatic expression, children also develop their motor skills. By engaging in imaginative play and role-play, students gain a deeper understanding of lesson themes and story content.

Course Content Outline:

1. Demonstration of drama teaching conventions, including structured routines and movement-based activities.
2. Integration of drama elements, such as movement, emotions, characters, imagination, storytelling, and response, into picture books or stories.
3. Demonstration of various drama teaching strategies, including still image (freeze), mirroring, transformation and role reversal, role on the wall, thought tracking, teacher-in-role, and hot seating.
4. Explanation and demonstration through hands-on activities using picture books or story content.
