Mid-Autumn Festival Parent-Child Workshop
Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) and Thumbs Up Little Junior, a preschool publication under SPH Media's Chinese Media Group, co-organised a Parent-Child Workshop to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival at the Punggol Regional Library. The event, held on 8 September 2024, was attended by nearly 200 parents and children.
The interactive storytelling session for this event was designed by Dr Cheng Wan-Ni, Dean of Early Childhood Care and Education at SCCL. She hoped to foster greater engagement and understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival by allowing children to experience the story of Chang'e Flying to the Moon through interactive activities. In the storytelling session, every child was given a prop for them to go on stage to play a character at appropriate moments. This not only increased the participants' involvement but also added fun to the story.
It was an enjoyable experience for the parents and children.
Parents and preschool educator are welcome to visit our Youtube Channel to watch the recording of the event.
