To encourage early childhood educators, students, parents and members of the public in Singapore to design creative tabletop activity as teaching aids for teaching and learning the Chinese language, SCCL has organised the "2020 National Preschool Teaching Aid Competition – Creative Tabletop Activity". We hope that this competition can create a platform to motivate and promote children's love for learning Chinese language. This competition is supported by Singapore University of Social Sciences, National Institute of Early Childhood Development, National Institute of Education, PAP Community Foundation, Kinderland, E-Bridge Pre-school, Thumbs Up Little Junior and National Library Board.

        As of 7 August 2020, we have received over 300 teaching aids. Results of the first round competition have been announced on 26 August 2020. The participants qualified for the finals are required to present and demonstrate the use of their teaching aids on 5 September 2020 online. The top five entries will present their work at the 6th International Conference on Teaching and Learning of Chinese as a Second Language (TLCSL) on 9 September 2020.
