SCCL Lecturers conduct lectures at Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School (2011)

On the 25th and 26th of November 2011, two SCCL lecturers conducted lectures at Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School on the invitation of the school's principal Mdm Kho Guik Lan. Participants included teachers from local schools such as Chung Hwa Middle School, Kuala Balait and Chung Chng Middle School participated in the lectures.

The lecturers shared their expertise in the areas of Chinese language teaching and assessment and provided professional guidance customised to the needs of the local primary and secondary school teachers of Brunei. Dr Chou Shiao-Yuh's lecture was on "Practising Drama and Pedagogy in the Primary and Secondary Chinese Language Classrooms" and Mdm Kwek Siew Hoon gave the audience practical guidance on "Setting Secondary Higher Chinese Papers".

During the brief period of two days, the SCCL lecturers and the local teachers engaged in professional interactions. The courses have received encouraging feedbacks from the local teachers, who found the lectures beneficial and helpful in enhancing cultural exchange.
