From 19 June to 24 June 2023, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) conducted the "Professional Certificate in Teaching of Chinese as a Second Language" programme for 17 Chinese language teachers from National High Jakarta School and Singapore National Academy (International School) in Indonesia.

  The courses of the programme were delivered by a team of experienced lecturers with solid theoretical knowledge from SCCL, and master teachers from the Singapore Ministry of Education. The courses provided the participants with an in-depth understanding of relevant knowledge and Chinese language pedagogies. The trainers employed various formats of teaching, including lectures, case studies, and group discussions, to deepen participants' understanding of what they had learnt in each session and enabled them to apply the knowledge in different contexts.

  During the four-and-a-half-day training, the teachers actively participated, interacted, and exchanged ideas. Their enthusiasm for learning was evident throughout the training. The feedbacks were highly positive. All of the participants said that the training allowed them to apply the knowledge gained to their teaching practice, thereby enhancing their teaching abilities and quality.
