New Staff

1. Liu Xinyun

       Liu Xinyun received her bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Peking University and master's degree in East Asian Languages and Literatures from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Comparative Literature and Cross-Cultural Studies at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. She has taught Chinese at secondary schools and higher education institutions in Singapore, the United States, and other places.

       Her research interests include women's literature, film studies and popular internet culture. As an experienced Chinese teacher who has taught at various institutions in different locations, she is keen to utilise cross-disciplinary resources to enhance language teaching.

       Xinyun currently serves as Research Associate at Singapore Centre for Chinese Language.

2. Bu Weiyun

       Bu Weiyu holds a bachelor's degree from Qiqihar University and a master's degree in Literary Theory from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, where her research focused on Comparative Literature. She subsequently pursued a master's degree in Teaching Chinese as an International Language at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She previously taught Chinese at international schools in Singapore, working with students at both primary and secondary levels, and has extensive experience in Chinese language teaching and curriculum practice.

       She is currently a Research Associate at the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language, where her research interests focus on differentiated instruction and its application in Chinese language teaching.
