"Food Hunt @ Ghim Moh" was held on 6 September 2014 by Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL), Promote Mandarin Council and Ghim Moh Market & Shops Merchants' Association. More than 50 participants joined the activity as parent-child teams.

The parent-child teams had to complete a series of fun activities, including using Mandarin to interact with selected stall owners, introduce their favourite dishes and take photographs of the food and videos with Chinese narration, before uploading them to Food Hunt Facebook event page.

Dr Chin Chee Kuen, Executive Director of SCCL, expressed his wish that through this event, parents would lead by example and take initiative to speak Mandarin with their children, which would make Chinese a daily used language for children.
