Master of Education Graduation Ceremony 2016
The 3rd graduation ceremony of Master of Education in Teaching and Learning Chinese Language was held on 19 March 2016 at Singapore Centre for Chinese Language. This year, 17 graduands received their degree scrolls from Professor Stephen Andrews, Dean of Faculty of Education, Hong Kong University (HKU) at the ceremony. Dr Cheah Horn Mun, Assistant Provost of SIM University and member of the Board of Directors of SCCL, was the Guest of Honour.
This part-time Master's programme is jointly offered by SCCL and the Faculty of Education, HKU. Emphasizing on teaching and learning Chinese, curriculum design and research, the programme aims to strengthen students' theoretical knowledge of education and research abilities.
Following the M. Ed. graduation ceremony was the inauguration ceremony of Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) in Research in Chinese Language Education. The Ed. D. programme is designed for educators and professionals who are interested in Chinese language education in Singapore. A total of nine students have been enrolled in the programme since 2015.
