The "2018 National Chinese Mobile App Development by Students for Students Competition" organised by Singapore Centre for Chinese Language has ended with a resounding success. The prize giving ceremony was held on 13 October 2018 at SCCL. We were honoured to have Ms Melissa Gay, Senior Deputy Programme Director, Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism Programme Office, graced the ceremony and presented awards to the winning teams together with Dr Foo Suan Fong, Executive Director, SCCL.

      The competition was very well-received with the participation of more than 400 students from different ethnic groups forming 94 teams. After rounds of selection, five teams emerged as winners of the Distinguished Achievement Awards, with another 15 teams receiving the Excellence Awards.

      The competition gave students opportunities to not only win exquisite prizes but also learn extensive knowledge of programming and app development. All the winning apps built by students are now available in app stores for the public to download. Please click here to download the apps.

      The award presentation ceremony of the "2018 National Preschool Teaching Aid Competition - Things in Everyday Life" was held on the same day. The prizes were presented to winners by Dr Foo Suan Fong (Executive Director, SCCL) and Dr Tan Chee Lay (Executive Director, Research and Development, SCCL). We have received many support from early childhood education organisations, with numerous submissions from their teachers and students.

      We would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all partners and participants for their support.
