Professor Jiao Jianli, Director of Future Education Research Centre at South China Normal University and Apple Distinguished Educator, was invited by SCCL to conduct a dialogue session, entitled "Infusing Creativity and Technology into Chinese Language Teaching and Learning" on 5 April 2019. Professor Jiao gave an in depth sharing of the latest development of infusing creativity and technology into Chinese teaching and learning languages. He further analysed the opportunities and challenges facing teaching Chinese language (CL) and guided participants to brainstorm novel ideas of teaching. Participants were academics and researchers, including NUS lecturers, NIE lecturers and representatives from MOE Curriculum Planning & Development Division and Educational Technology Division, CL Master Teachers, and SCCL lecturers and researchers.

       Subsequent to the Dialogue Session was a Learning Journey in the afternoon, with 130 teachers from primary schools, secondary schools and junior colleges participating. Participants gained practical knowledge from the hands-on experience at the inspiration stations while Professor Jiao facilitated a collective working session that explored how to utilise iPad to empower teachers to design creative and feasible teaching programmes.
