National Creative Story Writing Competition for Secondary Students a Tremendous Success
In an effort to promote local Chinese literary writing and cultivate student's interest in learning Chinese, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) and the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) co-organised the National Creative Story Writing Competition for Secondary Students.

Heads of Department Focus Group Discussion cum Awards Presentation Ceremony 2019
Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) organised two sessions of Heads of Department (HOD) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) cum Awards Presentation Ceremony in 2019. The session for Secondary/Junior College/Centralised Institute HODs and the one for Primary HODs were held on 29 October and 1 November respectively. The topic for the FGDs was "How to enhance Chinese teachers' professional literacy".

Forum on "Using ICT to Enhance Chinese Language (CL) Teaching and Learning"
Professor Jiao Jianli, Director of Future Education Research Centre at South China Normal University and Apple Distinguished Educator, conducted a forum entitled "Using ICT to Enhance Chinese Language (CL) Teaching and Learning" on 3 October 2019 on the invitation of Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL).

SCCL Staff Invited as Keynote Speaker
The Fifth Annual Conference of Global K-12 Education Research Association was held at Shijiazhuang Foreign Language Education Group, China, on 13 to 15 October 2019. SCCL Executive Director Dr Foo Suan Fong was one of the 35 invited keynote speakers.

Activities in SCCL
In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, SCCL organized for its staffs a movie-watching event on 3rd September 2019 at the Cathay Cineleisure Orchard.

New Staff and Interns
Ms Diana Guo Xinyu graduated from National University of Singapore, with a Master of Arts in Chinese Culture and Language. She is now a Research Associate of SCCL.
