He presented on the topic of "Professional Development of Chinese Language Teachers in Singapore".
In his speech, he mentioned that teaching is a profession that requires continuous professional development to build teachers' capacity in the subject matter knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge. In Singapore, the sociolinguistic environment is complex, and Chinese language teachers must continuously explore practical and effective teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with different language backgrounds and learning needs. Therefore, various local institutions and organisations in Singapore have spared no effort in working together to enhance the professional development of teachers.
