From 14 to 25 October 2024, a delegation of 28 preschool principals from Zhejiang Wenzhou participated in a two-week early childhood education training programme at Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL). The training aimed to provide the principals with an in-depth understanding of Singapore's early childhood education system and foster collaboration between China and Singapore in the field of early childhood education.

       The programme covered key areas of Singapore's early childhood education, including an exploration of its multicultural background and a comprehensive understanding of Singapore's Early Childhood Education Blueprint, which outlines the future direction of the sector. Highlighted sessions on "Picture Book Teaching" and "AI and Innovation in Early Childhood Education" focus on how to inspire children's imagination and interest in reading through picture books and leverage artificial intelligence to enhance teaching effectiveness. The programme also covers the themes of bilingual Chinese language teaching in a dual-language environment, innovative models for home-school collaboration, and the assessment of children's behavioural development, providing participants with comprehensive teaching concepts and practical methods.

       A key feature of the programme was its combination of theory and practice. Participants engaged in a "Props and Board Games" session to explore how games can be used to facilitate children's learning and development. They also visited Skool4Kidz Campus @ One Punggol to observe the teaching methods and management practices of a Singapore preschool first-hand.

       SCCL remains committed to partnering with more educational institutions to drive the development and innovation of early childhood education.
