Open for Submission: Story Writing Competition on Singapore Chinese Culture

To commemorate Singapore's 60th anniversary, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre co-organise the Story Writing Competition on Singapore Chinese Culture. The competition aims to encourage Singaporeans to inherit, preserve, and promote Singapore's Chinese cultural heritage, and to inspire secondary students to develop an interest in and appreciation for Singapore's local heritage. The supporting organiser is the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning.

The competition will be receiving online submission. It is open to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 13 and above. Participants may participate either individually or as a group. Participants are required to choose a theme from "Culturepaedia" and write a story for secondary students in Singapore.

The competition offers generous prizes. Winning entries will be published as a series of Chinese graded readers for local secondary students, and all Singapore secondary schools will receive complimentary sets of the graded readers. Teachers can use the readers to cultivate students' interest in reading Chinese.

Participants can fill in the online registration form, then submit the entry by 31 January 2026 (Saturday) to story@sccl.sg. Please visit our Website, or email to story@sccl.sg, or call 64675667 for more information.
