"Research and Data Analysis" Workshop Series by Dr Soh Kay Cheng

This year in May, SCCL is honoured to have Dr Soh Kay Cheng joining it as its first Research Consultant. A researcher of international standing, Dr Soh held various positions before his retirement. Most recently, he was appointed consultant by Educational Technology Division (ETD) of MOE for the 10'C Programme, which is "an effort of the ETD to enhance the learning of Chinese Language by providing teachers and students with ICT-based reading materials and activities linked to the normal classroom instruction."

Dr Soh has conducted a series of workshops on quantitative research for SCCL members, who have benefited tremendously. In the series, Dr Soh has covered such important areas as the choice of research topics, literature review, experiment designs, sampling and data analysis. During the course of the workshops, Dr Soh has made a number of suggestions to improve on the designs of several researches undertaken by SCCL.

The second series of Dr Soh's workshops, in August, focuses on data analysis.
