Launch of "Come, Let's Celebrate!: Preschool Teaching Activities and Resources for Festivals of Singapore" & Early Childhood Education Conference 2016
On 18 June 2016, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language launched the teaching package "Come, Let's Celebrate!: Preschool Teaching Activities and Resources for Festivals of Singapore". The Centre was honoured to have Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry, to grace the occasion. Around 180 preschool teachers and educators attended the event and each received a sample set of the teaching resources.
Guided by the concept of interdisciplinarity and multiculturalism and based on the local context, the set of teaching activities and resources is specially designed for preschool educators in Singapore. It is SCCL's hope that this set of teaching activities and resources will inspire preschool teachers of Chinese language to innovate and design more localized activities for Singapore children so as to cultivate their interest in Chinese through cultural and language immersion. For more information on the set of teaching activities and resources, please visit our online bookstore.

The joint BECCE Programme is designed based on the actual language conditions in Singapore and aims to equip students with knowledge of early childhood education and the teaching and learning of Chinese. The programme was established in 2001 and has since been welcomed by preschool educators. To date, 49 students have graduated while the current enrolment is 240.
