Launch of "Come, Let's Celebrate!: Preschool Teaching Activities and Resources for Festivals of Singapore" & Early Childhood Education Conference 2016On 18 June 2016, Singapore Centre for Chinese Language launched the teaching package "Come, Let's Celebrate!: Preschool Teaching Activities and Resources for Festivals of Singapore". The Centre was honoured to have Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry, to grace the occasion. Around 180 preschool teachers and educators attended the event and each received a sample set of the teaching resources.

MOE Director-General of Education visiting SCCL
Director-General of Education, MOE, Mr Wong Siew Hoong visited SCCL on 18 May 2016. The main purpose of his visit was to establish a deeper understanding of SCCL's development and achievements. He was accompanied by Deputy Director-General of Education (Professional Development), MOE, Mrs Chua-Lim Yen Ching.

SCCL Senior Fellow Appointment Ceremony
SCCL appointed Dr Soh Kay Cheng as its first Senior Fellow in an official appointment ceremony on 27 April 2016.

Arts Education Talk
: "Children's Arts Education and the Learning of Language & Culture"Co-organised by China Cultural Center (Singapore) , Centre of International Cultural Exchange (China) and China National Theatre for Children, the China-Singapore Children's Arts Festival 2016 commenced on 25June 2016.

AFCC and Singapore Book Fair
SCCL participating in the On 25 - 29 May 2016, SCCL participated in the Asian Festival of Children's Content organized by the National Book Development Council of Singapore. Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry visited SCCL's booth.

8th Teachers' Conference
SCCL participating in the SCCL participated in the 8th Teachers' Conference from 31 May to 1 June 2016. At its learning booth, SCCL showcased several teaching resources developed by its research teams, including the "Automated Essay Evaluation System", the "Chinese Language Teaching Resources Platform", teaching toolkits and graded children books.

Upcoming Event
"Creativity, No Boundaries!" National Children's Story Writing Competition Singapore Centre for Chinese Language and the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning are co-organising the "Creativity, No Boundaries!" National Children's Story Writing Competition. The competition aims to promote local Chinese literary writing and cultivate children's interest of learning Chinese.
