SCCL Deputy Executive Director invited to Bina Bangsa School in Jarkata, Indonesia as an international consultant

Dr Tan Chee Lay, SCCL Deputy Executive Director, was invited in December 2012 to Bina Bangsa School in Jakarta, Indonesia, as an international consultant.

A renowned international bilingual school in Indonesia, Bina Bangsa School has chosen to use Singapore's Chinese Syllabus and teaching materials in their teaching of Chinese Language. Besides providing professional consultation and training on the Chinese Language teaching and curriculum design, Dr Tan also presented a speech in an educational seminar for the Chinese teachers from the school's five campuses. Entitled "An Overview of Teaching Chinese as a second language in Singapore," the speech was well-received and the responses overwhelming and enthusiastic. During Dr Tan's visit, discussions were also held on the possibilities of future collaborations between SCCL and Bina Bangsa, including regular trainings and consultations.
