On 14 Mar 2015, the 2nd batch of 18 graduands received their Master of Education (Teaching and Learning Chinese Language) from Professor Stephen Andrews, Dean of Faculty of Education, Hong Kong University (HKU) at the graduation ceremony. Mr Sng Chern Wei, Director of Curriculum Planning & Development Division 1, MOE, was the Guest of Honour. The number of graduates receiving the distinction awards increased from 2 to 3 this year, and they are Cao Youfang, Shen Manli and Xu Aili.

This 2-year part-time Master's programme is jointly offered by Faculty of Education, HKU and Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL), focusing on curriculum design and assessment in Chinese language pedagogy, as well as teaching Chinese as a second language. The course aims to prepare the students to be future leaders in the educational field by strengthening their theoretical knowledge of education and enhancing their research abilities. Two batches of students have graduated from the programme to date and the 2015 cohort has begun their study in March at SCCL.

In 2015, Faculty of Education, HKU and SCCL have planned to jointly launch the Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) in Research in Chinese Language Education (RCLE) programme. Designed by scholars from Singapore and Hong Kong, the Ed. D. programme intends to promote research relevant to language education in Singapore, provide local Chinese teachers an exposure to emerging international trends in education, as well as strengthening their literacy and professional knowledge in this field. The Ed. D. programme has attracted a number of educators to its course briefing scheduled right after the Master's degree graduation ceremony.
