The 5th Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) Symposium was held on 20 August 2016 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, the theme of the symposium is "A Garden for Joyful Discoveries". To encourage children to learn Chinese and experience the fun of learning Chinese, SCCL prepared interactive activities such as the "Play and Read" jigsaw puzzle and the "Decorate for Mid-Autumn Festival" game at the symposium.

        ECDA Early Childhood Conference 2016 was held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from 30 September to 1 October 2016. The theme of the conference, "Enriching Childhood: It takes a Village", was adapted from an African proverb – It takes a village to raise a child. The two-day event attracted thousands of preschool teachers, parents and children. Children had fun playing with the resource toolkit developed by SCCL. Parents and preschool teachers were also keen to find out more about the services and products offered by SCCL.
