1. Dr Foo Suan Feng, Dr May Liu, Mdm Zheng Yingjiang

       SCCL Executive Director Dr Foo Suan Feng, Senior Lecturer Dr May Liu, Master Teacher Mdm Zheng Yingjiang were invited to attend and deliver keynote speeches at the Taipei Bilingual Education Forum – The Practice and Prospect of Bilingual Education held at Taipei Municipal Yang Ming Senior High School on 25-26 June. Dr Foo shared with the audience his views on "Singapore Bilingual Education: The Practice and Challenges". Dr Liu talked about "The Application of ACTFL Modes in Spoken and Written Interactive Courses and Exams at Primary and Secondary School in Singapore". Mdm Zheng's speech was on "The Practice of Singapore Bilingual Education: Teaching Chinese as Second Language in Primary School".

2. Dr Tan Chee Lay

 I. The 6th Language Theory and Teaching Research Conference

       Dr Tan Chee Lay attended "The 6th Language Theory and Teaching Research Conference" on 29-30 September 2018. The conference was organised by the Committee of Language Theory and Pedagogy Research, Society on Modernization of Chinese Language and co-organised by Guangxi Normal University. Dr Tan delivered a keynote speech on "The Development of Chinese Teachers under The Belt and Road Initiative: The 'Research-Verify-Teach' Training Model of Singapore".

II. The 295th Boya Auditorium: "The Landmark Poems of Tan Chee Lay"

       The 295th Boya Auditorium was held by Yulin Normal University on 27 September 2018. The University invited Dr Tan Chee Lay to give a lecture on his poems and share his writing experience to the audience.

III. My Literature Writing Journey: From Taiwan to Oxford to Singapore

       Dr Tan Chee Lay was invited by Ministry of Education, Taiwan to deliver a speech at his alma mater, National Taiwan Normal University and receive the Distinguish Alumni Award.

       On 25 October, 2018, Dr Tan shared his writing journey in his lecture "My Literature Writing Journey: From Taiwan to Oxford to Singapore". Prof Lai Kuei-San, Prof Hsu Chun-ya, Prof Pan Li Chu, Prof Fan Yi-ju and Assoc Prof Lin Shu-yun also attended the sharing session.

IV. The 2nd International Conference on the Chinese of Southeast Asia

     10 Nov 2018, Dr Tan Chee Lay was invited to the "2nd International Conference on the Chinese of Southeast Asia" co-organised by New Era University College and Nanning Normal University. He delivered the keynote speech entitled "Dumpling with Pandan Leaves: Singapore Chinese Culture and Literature".

3. Mr Ang Swee Choon

      Master Teacher Mr Ang Swee Choon was invited to the N6 CL Teaching forum (Pri / Sec) to share about "The qualities of Chinese teacher and the goal of Chinese education for the ten years of primary and secondary school education" on 7 August 2018. The forum was held at CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School.

4. Dr Goh Hock Huan

      Research Scientist Dr Goh Hock Huan was invited to the N3 Cluster Chinese Sharing Session to share about "How to Conduct School-based Research?" on 17 August 2018. The venue was at Compassvale Secondary School.
