SCCL Research Consultant Dr Soh Kay Cheng was invited to be the speaker of the "Distinguished Speakers Series Workshops" organised by the Singapore Chinese Teachers' Union. Dr Fan Jinghua was invited to be the speaker of the "China-Singapore Symposium on Chinese Poetry Theory and Practice" and the "Deeper Teaching and Learning: Brain Cognition, Children's Language Development" seminar.

1. Dr Soh Kay Cheng

       SCCL Research Consultant Dr Soh Kay Cheng was invited to be the speaker of the "Distinguished Speakers Series Workshops" organised by the Singapore Chinese Teachers' Union. Over the period from April to July 2019, Dr Soh delivered several lectures on how to write teaching research reports, covering the topics of "Writing a Publishable Teaching Research Report", "Statistical Analysis of Research Data", "Design and Analysis of Attitudes towards Languages Scales" and "Design and Analysis of Questionnaires".

2． Dr Fan Jinghua

I. China-Singapore Symposium on Chinese Poetry Theory and Practice

       On 10-11 May 2019, Dr Fan Jinghua attended the China-Singapore Symposium on Chinese Poetry Theory and Practice held at the School of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University. He shared his papers on "The Flattening of Poetry Translation and Transmission" and "English Poetry by Singapore Chinese: Trajectory and Features".

II. Deeper Teaching and Learning: Brain Cognition, Children's Language Development" seminar

       Dr Fan Jinghua was invited to attend the "Deeper Teaching and Learning: Brain Cognition, Children's Language Development" seminar co-organised by Peking University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 27 June 2019. During the seminar, Dr Fan shared his views on "How to Read for Writing More Creatively".
